Telegram or Discord for Your Project Launch? Why Brane Is Safer and Simpler

October 22, 2026

Launching something? A token, an app, an AI tool, an indie game, a new product drop. The default playbook says spin up a Telegram group and a Discord server, then push people into them. But for most launches that playbook leaks people at every step: they have to install an app, hand over a phone number, find the right channel, and dodge a wave of scam bots the moment your project gets any attention. Here’s why a Brane Crowd is a better home for your launch community.

The problem with launching on Telegram or Discord

  • Bots and scams arrive before your users do. Both platforms are open to bots, and anyone who has run a crypto group knows what follows: fake admins, “support” DMs, fake airdrop and wallet-connect links, and impersonator groups with your logo. Every one of them hits your brand, not the platform’s.
  • Every join has friction. Telegram needs a phone number to sign up. Discord needs an account, and many servers add phone verification on top. Each extra step loses people who were curious but not committed yet.
  • Nobody finds you by accident. On both, people mostly arrive through a link you already promoted somewhere else. Your group doesn’t bring you new people on its own.
  • Moderation becomes the job. Instead of talking about your launch, your team spends launch week banning spam accounts and warning people not to click things.

Why launch on Brane instead

No bots, so better brand safety

Brane doesn’t support bots. There are no bot accounts posting fake giveaway links or spamming your members with “verify your wallet” messages. That means fewer scams aimed at your community, fewer screenshots of someone getting drained in “your” group, and a chat that actually looks like your brand. For crypto projects especially, that alone is worth the switch.

One easy link to share

Every Crowd gets a clean link at brane.im/c/your-project, plus a QR code. Put it in your X bio, your website, your launch thread, your pitch deck or on a sticker at a conference. One link, everywhere.

No app, no phone number

Anyone who opens your link can join straight from their browser. They sign in with their email and a six digit code, pick a username and they’re in. No download, no phone number, and other members only see their username. Fans who want notifications can grab the app later, and their account and conversations carry across.

Discoverable from day one

A Telegram group or Discord server starts with zero reach. A Brane Crowd sits inside an existing community of people already browsing for groups to join. Tag your Crowd with up to three topics, like crypto, Web3 or AI, and drop a pin on the map, and people already on Brane can find it through topic search and Groups Near You, not just through links you push.

Free, with no ads

Creating a Crowd, sharing it, running events and every message are free, with no member limit and no ads in your chat.

Launch events built in

Turn on “Is this an event?” and set a start time for your launch, AMA or mint. It shows up in Events Near You with a live countdown, members can add it to their calendar in one tap, and the chat stays open afterwards for questions and feedback.

On your website too

Embed your Crowd on your project’s site with one line of code, so visitors can join the conversation without leaving your landing page. See how to put a chat on your page.

How to set up your launch Crowd

  1. Create it. Open brane.chat or the app, go to the Crowds tab and tap add. Use your project name, logo and a one-line pitch.
  2. Tag it. Pick up to three topics people would actually search for.
  3. Share the link. Use Share Crowd to copy your brane.im link and QR code into every channel you already have.
  4. Schedule the launch. Create an event for launch day so people get the countdown.
  5. Keep it clean. As owner you can delete messages, remove members and ban anyone from rejoining. Add a Join Code to a second Crowd if you want a private holders or early-access room.

Common questions

Is Brane good for crypto project launches?

Yes. With no bots, the fake-admin and fake-airdrop scams that plague crypto groups have far less room to operate, and people can join from a link without installing anything.

How do I move my community from Telegram or Discord?

Create your Crowd, then pin your brane.im link in your old group and announce the move. Because people can join straight from the link in their browser, there’s no app to install and no account hoops, so switching takes them seconds.

Does it cost anything?

No. Crowds, events, sharing and messages are free, with no member limit and no ads.
