If you make things people love, people want to talk to you. They just cannot agree on where. Some message you on Instagram, some comment on TikTok, some find your email, and some are told to join a WhatsApp group, a Telegram channel or a Discord server first. Every one of those asks a fan to do something before they can say hello, and some of them ask for a phone number.
There is a simpler way: one link in every bio that opens a private chat with you, in the browser, in seconds. No download, no phone number, no server to join. This guide shows how it works and why creators are moving their DMs to it.
The short answer: put your Brane profile link, brane.im/u/your-username, in every social bio and on your Linktree. A fan taps it, taps Message Me, signs in with a six digit email code and is talking to you, all in their browser. They never install an app, nobody hands over a phone number, and neither of you sees the other's email address. Every conversation lands in one inbox on your phone.
What a Brane DM link is
Every Brane profile is also a public web page, with your name, photo and bio, and a Message Me button. That page is your link:
brane.im/u/your-username
Because it is an ordinary web page, it works anywhere a link works: an Instagram bio, a TikTok profile, a YouTube description, a podcast's show notes, a QR code on merch. It is public, so search engines can find it too, which means people searching for you can land straight on a way to reach you.
What your fans do
1. Tap your link. Your profile opens in their browser, on any phone or computer.
2. Tap Message Me. A chat panel opens right there on the page.
3. Type an email code and say hello. They enter their email, type the six digit code, pick a username and confirm they are an adult. That is the whole signup, about twenty seconds.
Their first message goes straight to you. There is no request to accept and no folder to dig through.
Why it beats a WhatsApp, Telegram or Discord link
Those apps are brilliant for talking to people you already know. A link for fans is a different job: it has to work for a stranger who found you five seconds ago and is about to scroll on. Every step you put in front of them loses people. Here is what a fan does not have to do with Brane.
No app to install
The chat runs in the browser. Asking a fan to visit an app store, download something, open it and sign up is where most of them quietly give up. With Brane they are already where they need to be.
No phone number, on either side
Brane never asks anyone for a phone number. Every WhatsApp account is tied to one, and signing up for Telegram needs one too, so a fan who wants to reach you there has to hand a phone number to another platform first. With Brane, your number stays yours and theirs stays theirs.
No server to join
Discord is built around servers. A fan needs a Discord account, and usually has to share a server with you or be accepted as a friend before a direct message gets through. Your Brane link opens a one to one chat with you directly.
No email address on show
Fans sign in with an email code, but email addresses are never shown on Brane, so you do not have to publish yours to be reachable, and they never see it.
They hear back, even after they leave
Fans close tabs. If you reply after they have gone, your reply is emailed to them, and the conversation is waiting exactly where it stopped when they come back.
Fans are not pushed onto another social network
People who sign up through your link stay out of Brane's username search until they choose to install the app. They came to talk to you, and that is all they signed up for.
To message you, a fan needs:
WhatsApp: a WhatsApp account, which is tied to a phone number.
Telegram: a Telegram account, which needs a phone number to sign up.
Discord: a Discord account, and usually a shared server or an accepted friend request.
Brane: your link, a browser and an email code.
Where to put your link
Everywhere you would otherwise say "DM me":
Linktree or your link in bio page. Add it as a "Message me" button at the top.
Every social bio. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Threads, Twitch, LinkedIn.
Descriptions and show notes. Under videos, in podcast notes, in your newsletter footer.
Offline. A QR code on merch, at the merch table, or on your last slide.
Your website. Put the same chat on your own site with one line of script, so fans never even leave your page. See how embedding works.
Want a group chat for your fans too?
Create a Crowd, Brane's group chat, and it gets its own link at brane.im/c/your-crowd-name. Fans join from the browser the same way, and it is the same conversation your members see in the app. Keep it public if you want people to join from the link, because a Crowd with a Join Code can only be joined in the app.
It is a fan community without asking anyone to download a chat app, learn a server's channels or share a phone number with a few hundred strangers.
Staying in control
Block anyone you would rather not hear from, and they can no longer reach you.
Report anything that is not right, straight from their profile.
Mute any one conversation without leaving it.
Adults only. Brane is an 18+ app, and everyone confirms they are an adult when they sign up.

Common questions
Do my fans need to download the Brane app?
No. They tap your link and message you in their browser, on any phone or computer.
Will fans see my phone number or email address?
No. Brane never asks for a phone number, and email addresses are never shown on Brane, yours or theirs.
Is it free?
Yes. Your profile, your link and every conversation are free. Brane Premium is optional.
Can I add my Brane link to Linktree?
Yes. It is an ordinary web link, so it works on Linktree, any link in bio page, and anywhere else a link can go.
How is this different from a Discord server or a WhatsApp group?
Fans need no app, no phone number and no server to join. They tap your link, sign in with an email code and talk to you, one to one, or in a public Crowd if you want a group chat as well.
Does Brane read my Instagram or TikTok messages?
No. Brane does not connect to your other accounts. You point every profile at one link, so new conversations start in one place instead of five.
